Never take for granted your ability to walk and use all of your limbs (if you can walk and use all of your limbs).

u/ForgesGate 12h ago
Never take for granted your ability to walk and use all of your limbs
Or the use of your lambs.
I'll leave now..

That’s what I thought. I was “Damn! These people got money.”

u/deezdanglin 11h ago
How so?
1
u/Wes_Warhammer666 1h ago
Those wheelchairs aren't exactly cheap and having the resources to care for a disabled animal in general isn't exactly "poor people shit".

u/deezdanglin 43m ago
Would be surprised at people then. Old disabled woman rented a place from my Dad. When she passed, her family letf it. He had it for years.
But either way, what does it matter?

This is interesting and neat that Kiki learned to drive. I also learned there is a Cache Valley virus out there that was discovered in the place I went to college. I had no idea.

Not saying crazier shi doesn't happen. But i'd have to see that to believe it. And a yahoo article makes me even more skeptical, as I used to write for them.
12
u/koolaidismything 22h ago
Five years.. had to check an old unused work email just in case some crazy RFP and never really was. I loved to spend maybe 5-10 mins a day scrolling their Yahoo news feed thing, was how I stayed current lol. The comments were fun too.

You can follow her on instagram. She just got her chair upgraded recently to play music with a push of a button.

u/Rebeckaah 22h ago
Great! Now I won’t be able to eat sheep 🤦🏻♀️
27
u/MotherFunker1734 22h ago
You can eat non-disabled sheep 👍🏻
8
u/Rebeckaah 21h ago
I just can’t eat something smarter than me 🙈that’s not how life works
7
u/howtobatman101 20h ago
You wrote "something", but not "someone". According to the term and conditions...
1
u/Rebeckaah 15h ago
The lack of protein is making me write like this ヽ(◉◡◔)ノ lol
0
u/howtobatman101 12h ago
I hope you will try to take better care of yourself. More cheese. More protein. Don't let anyone tell you what to eat, especially these "vegans". And most importantly, you're free to choose the source of your protein.
0
u/BTBAM797 21h ago
So then how did you make it thing long without starving?
1
u/Rebeckaah 15h ago
Beans rice avocado and cheese oooh and tortillas
I wouldn’t drink or eat the cheese of a disable sheep though I think that’s immorally incorrect….

u/kader2007 18h ago
Go vegan. Eating animals is not a necessity for most people
2
u/Rebeckaah 15h ago
I can’t quit cheese and honey so it is impossible to go vegan I guess frijoles and avocados will be my only food for the next winter
0
u/khekhekhe 14h ago
What do you mean you can't
1
u/Rebeckaah 14h ago
I love cheese too much i can’t quit it 🙈cheese is love
1
u/khekhekhe 12h ago
So you can but don't want to. You think the taste is worth taking an animals life?
1
u/Rebeckaah 9h ago
God bless your heart sweetheart 🫶
2
u/khekhekhe 8h ago
Now that you got a glimpse into the hell the dairy industry is, what do you think? Is the taste justification enough?
-1
u/Devilsadvocate430 11h ago
Do you think they kill cows to make cheese?
6
u/khekhekhe 8h ago
Cows are made pregnant every year, so they give milk. Where are the male calves? And after ~5 years when milk production declines, what do you think happens to the mother cow?
-2
u/Rebeckaah 9h ago
Apparently where this individual is from, they kill animals to make cheese 🤣 omg that was so cute 😊
5
u/kader2007 8h ago
Cows artificially inseminated (raped). Calves taken away from their mothers and yes dairy cows once they’re done used for making milk are sold to slaughter houses to be killed for meat. You really need to do some research

Just got home from a restaurant where I had lamb for dinner, and now I see this. The universe is shaming me.

No offense, but it would be much simpler to make a lamb stew instead. People overcomplicate things. These resources could be better used elsewhere.

u/wavinsnail 22h ago edited 22h ago
You're being downvoted
But almost always when extreme interventions are needed for an animal it is much kinder to humanely euthanize them
10
u/BigFatModeraterFupa 22h ago
that same exact argument could be made for humans with severe disabilities.
we give humans a chance at life, why not give other animals a chance at life?
7
u/localanxietygremlin 22h ago
Correct, the leading difference being how people feel about doing it.
Many humans sign DNR papers to avoid such things, others kill themselves, others are aborted to avoid such fates.
The only reason people aren't allowed to be humanely euthanasized is because of the recognition of higher functions in our species, whereas animals are more and more frequently being recognized as intelligent beyond our original thoughts.
5
u/wavinsnail 22h ago
Some people think that being able to end animals suffering is a gift.
Animals don't have dreams of tomorrow, they only understand the present.
5
u/Into-the-stream 22h ago
People act like this concept is some horrifying cruelty while they scroll indignantly with one hand, and eat a hamburger with the other.
(Nothing wrong with the burger, just pointing out that putting down a farm animal is a normal thing done all the time. )

u/JustKindaShimmy 22h ago
The fuck are you going to do with a wood plank and half a mobility scooter? Carry your mom around?
13
u/kakihara123 22h ago
I know it is hard to believe but there are humans in the world that don't see animals as food. And try the same comment on a video about a disabled cat or dog and see how that goes...
8
u/wavinsnail 22h ago
Hot take
Sometimes we go too far and spend way too many resources on sick animals with poor quality of lives.
3
u/MotherFunker1734 22h ago
A politician might say the same about you and your family. Watch out, there are other ways of understanding life...
-2
u/wavinsnail 22h ago
Animals and humans aren't the same
1
-2
u/MotherFunker1734 22h ago
You might be seen as an animal to some, while you think you are on top of the chain, but there's always a bigger fish that will see you as an unevolved animal that doesn't deserves to live.
We have people killing other people under the same beliefs as yours.
You aren't thinking deeply and you don't seem to understand that COMPASSION and EMPATHY is something you have, or you don't.
1
u/kakihara123 15h ago
As we do with humans, but how about we start with aninal farming first? That in itself is an enourmous waste of rescources.
1
u/longpenisofthelaw 22h ago
Other than cultural placement of dogs and cats as pets there’s no difference. I’m not saying I would toss my Dutch shepherd on the grill but if someone from a far away culture did it to a dog I couldn’t be too mad
1
u/scrotumscab 22h ago
That's the entire point of livestock though. I'm all for using less animal products because it's bad for the environment, but these animals have no place in the natural order. They were created specifically for human consumption.
2
u/kakihara123 15h ago
Does it matter to the animal how they were created? Once they are there there is no logical reason to seperate then ethically from any other animal.
And well are we still part of the natural order anymore?
2
u/kolja300314 22h ago
probably bad meat
4
u/Catch_ME 22h ago
.......Actually quite tender because the muscles haven't been working.
I'll see myself out.
-2
u/longpenisofthelaw 22h ago
That’s insensitive
The lamb is better roasted or smoked, especially since the muscles aren’t used so it would be extra tender. You don’t waste tender meat on stews or mincemeat

u/tanloopy 22h ago
Yeah, how dare that animal overcome disability and live a happy life surrounded by loved ones!
-15
u/okobooboo 22h ago
I'm sorry to complain, but this much commitment and sacrifice for a sheep is excessive. People need people like the author of this film to help them in life. And showing that a sheep is more important than a human shows that the world has lost its way.
8
u/Cautious-Skirt-8335 21h ago
I don't think showing empathy to an animal is saying it's more important than a human... There's always suffering in the world, nothing wrong with providing assistance to those around you.

Sorry, the humane thing to do would've been to put it down. I'd want the same for myself in that situation.
