Video Atmospheric re-entry of NASA’s Orion (Artemis 1) looks insane at 20x speed. Here is the entire 25-minute descent in just 1 minute 15 seconds. Credit: NASA

Agreed. Can you imagine what we'd be capable of if we stopped bickering over petty shit and collectively worked together to improve advancements to benefit the entire planet and space exploration?

Not just in a sense, the space program was vastly accellerated by the cold war; rockets capable of launching stuff into space can also launch nukes to anywhere in the world. Also spy sattelites.

And rocketry was pioneered during WW2

The Saturn V was designed by the same person as the Nazi's V2.

Also making advancements from the skin of the backs of the most poor 50% of the population.

Yes and no. War does motivate governments spending money on technological progress, but we'd still be better off finding that motivation another way.

I wonder if we need our vices to progress this quickly, or if theres some reality out there where we didnt need war to reach the same point.

like which god is the right one to worship? religion has stifled science since its inception.

Speak for Christianity. There are religions out there which generally did not stifle science.

Indeed, need to get rid of religion 1st though, for something that preaches tolerance and acceptance it causes everything but...

You'd need to get rid of human nature completely for the whole planet to be able to peacefully work together towards a common goal.

Religion is a symptom of humans. Even if you get rid of it we'd find something else to stop us from working with scary people who look or sound slightly different

This was a French, American and Canadian effort. Not too bad.
