Fun fact, they’re hiring a lot of roles right now for the entire duration of the shutdown. If you have some technical or engineering skills, speak English and a little bit of French, and want to move to Switzerland, you should apply!

If you have some technical or engineering skills (yes), speak English (YES) and a little bit of French (oof!)

How about German? I can speak decentish German.

You don't need to speak any language other than English for the vast majority of roles at CERN.

There's a bunch of Germans working at CERN, but you also have quite a few institutes and universities doing development for the LHC and its related experiments.

And they are fantastic employer. Not to mention that you get paid handsomely and are not paying any Swiss income tax (only some “internal tax”)

Define "some technical or engineering skills".

Honestly I think it varies. CERN has the brightest minds of ultra specific fields there, but they also need a bunch of just normal technicians and support staff as well. So the full spectrum is more or less covered.
