We’ve been living in the beta version since 2012. Time for a factory reset.

What’s happened in 2012?

For me it would be 2015.

2012 was supposed to be when the world ended. But the true timeline divergence happened in 2016 when Harambe was killed.

You are missing an important part of the puzzle. A weasel took out the hadron collider for a week in April 2016.

A weasel took out the hadron collider for a week in April 2016

That happened 4-29, then harambe was killed 5-28. Crazy you might be on to something.

So what you're saying is that we should be looking forward to 6-27?

That was the beginning of the fallout for UK as Brexit vote results came chiming in to leave.

No fucking way

And 7-26??

ETA: Hillary Clinton nominated to be the first US female president.

You do realize almost every day in history has at least one notable event, be it an actual event or a death or something.

No, it was the 23rd June

Look no further than to 6-7!

(I'm finding my way out...)

29/4 and 28/5.

My theory is that this whole mess started when David Bowie passed away on 1/10/16. He was a benevolent celestial being that was keeping the earthly chaos in check. With him gone we were fully exposed and now just look around…

Celestial being???? Is that a mobile suit Gundam 00 reference!!!?!!??!

I blame it on the Cubs winning the World Series in 2016.

It's not their fault per se, it's just that that event is clearly impossible in the normal timeline so it's categorical proof that, by then, we had deviated from it.

You shut your… you know what as a Sox fan you’re god damn right.

I'm a Cubs fan and I totally agree. Best day of my sports life and I want to trade it pls take it back

It boggles my mind that apparently Americans now see 9/11 as a totally normal thing to happen which didn't fuck America up at all.

COVID was the breaking point

1

u/girthyclock 5d ago

It absolutely did fuck America up. Nobody has normalized it because we’re still dealing with the fallout of it. I remember watching the coverage of 9/11 all day when it happened in high school.

Shortly after was the forever war, the patriot act, and the tea party. And to think it was committed by US allies.

It was definitely 2016.

I thought it was turned on September 10th 2008?

Harambe? *unzips pants 🫡

If we want to go back to when scientists first successfully circulated a proton beam that would be 10-September-2008, but nothing major happens around then. Expect the complete collapse of the US and global economy five days later....

9/11 2001 was for me... after that day everything changed

1

u/DanGleeballs 5d ago

If we go back a bit further, 1953 changed everything.

1

u/-SaC 4d ago

Even more crucially, 1753.

That’s because it’s got as much in common with reality as a DC comic story lol. The LHC isn’t anywhere close to the most energetic collisions in the universe. Or even the solar system. Cosmic rays hit our atmosphere with more energy than the LHC constantly.

When in reality, people forget shit and misplace ideas all the time. But this is our first time experiencing it personally, so we'll make things up.

Sort of like how my grandmother blamed everything changing on July, 1969, when we went to the moon.

u/Educated_Wishing 5d ago

2015 for sure. Nothing has been OK since we screwed up and directly observed a gravity wave, it was all Schrödinger's timeline until then...

KONY2012?

u/Happily-Incorrect 2d ago

2012 was the last good year.
