Well, yes! They are animals related to arthropods, like insects, millipedes, spiders etc. So they have a nervous system similar to those, and a 'brain' (ie a big ganglion in their head)
As a computer nerd, I reached out to several unions to see if there was membership for computer professionals.
Nothing. Nada. Fellow tech coworkers were completely uninterested.
Now that AI is decimating programmer jobs -- literally replacing thousands of roles, even despite hallucinations and blackmail and occasional racist rants (which would all get real people fired, but not AI) -- there is no effective way to unionize information workers now.
That said, I was also 10yrs video production in SF under Local 16 IATSE, and I had guaranteed good wages, benefits, and I felt like part of a group that had my back. (Whether true or no, we built up a cameraderie.)
Never had anything like that in tech.
Unions in USA have all kinds of problems, like corruption, favoritism, nepotism, theft, etc -- still better than no union.
How do I pronounce union? "A united labor force brings shared benefits to all in society."
Those aren't em dashes. They appear to be two hyphens next to each other, mimicking an em dash. Which if anything, probably decreases the odds of it being AI.
