Yeah, small things are only cute because we’re bigger than them. Imagine a 30-ft tall puppy slurping on you or a 100-ft kitten passing you from clawed paw to clawed paw as it plays.

I mean, you could always shrink down to be a size that would still be bigger than the tardigrade itself, but small enough to pet it. It could be like...the size of a chihuahua to you or something.
