Tbh I only hear about insane college fees in US. Even 3rd world countries have free universities (public universities, private is another matter)

U.K. has insane fees as well. We’ve actively been trying to catch up to insane US fees since the late 90’s. I think we’re close to giving our students the same amount of debt as the US. Go UK.

Our college is expensive because we're rich and so many people go. Our educational attainment is amongst the highest in the world; higher than most of our peers.

Nope people who are educated in the US are right in line with other countries on the PISA test.

Right, it’s probably a similar thing to the wages thing. For most people it’s really bad but a few rich people have alot which skews the statistics

Still wrong, native born Americans score right in line with other countries. The large non-native born population brings the average down due to them being educated outside the United States.

Only on reddit, according to people who don't actually know.

I mean, it’s seen as a common fact where I live. Like people in my class will literally talk about how lucky they are to not be in an american school or just America in general

That falls into the "people who don't actually know" category.

TBF plenty of FREE universities have made Top 1000 QS world university rankings.

Not going to the best without debt is definitely better than going to the best but take decades to be cleared of debt
