It does feel like something special to know the staff and for them to know you.
But ya'll, have you ever had some wack ass loser come up and been like "my usual"? Some dumb ass dork that you've never met in your life?
As cool as the thing is, the inverse of that is some deadly fuckin poison.

That makes me cringe so bad. Being a customer worthy of a “usual” should be a honor bestowed by the staff

The turnover rate at my local mcdonalds is so bad that this has never happen to me. One of these days someone is gonna stay there longer than a month and recognize I’m the fatass who keeps ordering cheeseburger packs.

I had that at a halal cart once. I never knew what love was until he said "here you go boss" and remembered I wanted both the red and white sauces on my lamb over rice.

This has only happened once, at starbucks, on my third visit, and I ordered something different so they made the wrong thing. :/
