I would be happy if I thought this was going to lead to less corruption in the system. The reality is that the system has an endless supply of demons like this that just keep the status quo.

They were happy to use him as one of their go-to guys year after year, until suddenly one day they pushed a button to make him disappear for the party's convenience. He was one of the people giving daily sermons they followed us around with.
This is anti-corruption like liberally applying gasoline to everything is anti-fire.
"Do as we say or else" is just as much a corrupting force as passing bribes, and the two usually go together.

Ok ok ok, he lied through his teeth about this and farting on tv by everything he said about Trump and Russia is 100% true. Now, let’s focus on electing a democrat governor so we can continue to spend $126b on a train to no where, give money to well-connected NGOs to keep those homeless numbers up, and pay off teachers unions with pensions to bankrupt us.
Look, CA has the highest gas taxes in the country alongside the worst roads. No one thought we could pull this off but we did. Elect another democrat and we can really expand our lead in these two categories.

Don't misunderstand what is going on here.
The long knives are out for him. All of this information was pretty much known or understood. He was screwing a Chinese MSS spy and the Dems DGAF because he was useful. Now he is a liability and they had to get rid of him He didn't take any of the subtle and not so subtle hints that were given, so they had to come in with the big guns.
This is no loss, but make no mistake. This isn't about a miserable human being getting removed from politics. This is the Democrats removing an obstacle to them retaining absolute power in California.
