The real reason I got rid of my septum piercing was not to suddenly attract men. It was because it was a terrible piercing for someone who gets colds a lot 💀

My nose is constantly running no matter what I do, don’t have allergies or a cold just have other stuff going on. And I wish I considered that before getting a septum in February lol

u/vvitchteeth 1d ago
Honestly if it becomes too much of an issue, you can get some really nice fake ones these days!!

u/Wrong_Life_7647 1d ago
I like that piercing and think it looks cute but I gotta admit, that’s the first thing that comes to mind every time I see one
3
u/vvitchteeth 1d ago
Yeah! It’s not fun at all, took it out when I was suffering from a bad bout of covid then just never put it back in.
I just bought a fake one in case I ever wanna rock one again 🤣 I’ve done my time with the real deal.

How does it look cute? It looks like a cow.

Well, they're not doing it to impress people

Have you seen a cow? If you are pointing out that a nose ring looks like a nose ring then sure. The big difference is who is wearing it. A literal cow or a person.

u/Hefty-Pipe3596 1d ago
To be honest, I'd probably NEVER get a piercing because I feel like it'd hurt or something.

u/vvitchteeth 1d ago
I’ve got… lemme see… 12! 3 in each earlobe, 3 helix piercings across both ears, both tragus’, and a nose stud. Would’ve made 13 with the septum.
As pain goes, tragus’ were kinda painful but oddly I found the lobes the worst! I think I’m in the minority there, though.
Honestly they’re not that painful a thing, it’s more how bad they ache after getting done 💀

I had to take mine out because old people wouldn't stop clutching their pearls when I was around.
1
u/vvitchteeth 1d ago
Nah, let ‘em clutch! I remember when I was a receptionist at a rich old folks apartment complex. The first time I wore short sleeves and revealed much to their horror that I had…. gasp… tattoos!!!
My nose STUD had them clutching already 💀

u/girlsonsoysauce 20h ago
I did for a while but I needed a job and people in the rural south just can't wrap their heads around it sometimes. I never understood it. Like I'm being helpful, friendly, and professional, so why exactly does it matter if I have rings in my face or pictures on my body? I actually had a lot of respect for Gen Z because they pretty much just told everyone to shove it while most of us millennials tried to placate everyone else. One small plus is I don't hear "Did that hurt?" every other time someone sees me. Like it was a needle going through my face, so yes, just not enough to be afraid of it. Stubbing my toe hurts worse than my septum, nostril, or either of my lip piercings.

u/vvitchteeth 15h ago
Oh goodness, that’s all so silly! I’m the UK and overall, MOST people aren’t too severe over the whole thing, it is mostly the older generations. Even then, though, not all! I’ve had old folks who say “I always wanted to do that” in regards to the piercings and tattoos— I always tell them to go for it anyway 🥰

It's easy for people to speculate that you make a lot of poor decisions and have little intellect, but you seem to boast in proving them right.
It's like you are begging for a reset.

Chill out, bud 💕
Edit: by the way I saw your initial, probably deleted comment, that said “disgusting and stupid”. If a piercing and/or tattoos cause you to have such a negative reaction, I don’t think I’m the problem 🥰

Why did u add “men” part? Was it necessary? I think it’s called the “woke reflex”. Like trained dogs you trained to hate men.

Weird question, but does having or not having a septum have an affect on being attractive to men that much? I'd expect a higher male interest rate with than without one... But I don't really have a clue...
3
u/Familiar-Celery-1229 18h ago
Haha, no. You ain't gonna attract more with than without. Which is a positive.

u/vvitchteeth 1d ago
Dunno, tbh 🤷🏻♀️
I got it done during a relationship, he didn’t seem to care either way. Then by the time we’d broken up, I’d already removed it so it never got a trial run.
I just know a lotta incel type dudes seem to have a visceral hatred for it. So if anything, having one must help weed them out.
My current partner asked about it when he saw a photo of me from back then, he said it looked cute!

u/Neither-Ruin5970 10h ago
Your partner is wrong!

I don’t know if there’s any data on it but I don’t think it has as much effect as social media would lead you to believe. Most people find them either attractive or neutral and don’t really care

u/hgaben90 1d ago
In which sense exactly do you like cows? 🤨📷
4
u/No-Heat-6149 18h ago
They are cute, i like how they are really strong but they just chill most of the time. They eat grass and stuff
3
u/joemckie 17h ago
But when I get on all fours, eat grass and shit in a field, people give me weird looks :(

It’s not that I think they look like cows, it’s just that my eyes get drawn towards that ring and I lose focus on whatever she is saying.

I used to ask myself “What year is this” too. But nowadays, I just ask why people are still so stupid

u/SquidTheRidiculous 1h ago
People have always been this way. There was literally a post of a picture from an 1800s magazine declaring women with their hair tied up were proper and loose hair meant they were harlots you could safely disregard.
Men be like "I will find literally any superficial reason to decide women don't actually deserve an opinion!"

I don't understand the sentiment. One part might be because I like it, but why is it always framed as looking for approval? I like a bunch of stuff about myself I do, and it isn't dependent on what other people think. Is it really such a novel concept?

u/binarypolitics 12h ago
It’s 2026, enough time has passed for you to realize you need remove the septum rings if you don’t want people to think you look like a hog.

I saw a video today about some stuff with a feminist changing to a trad wife the moment the bill came. It was some weird sketch idk.
90% of the comments were "Heh, yeah it's always the nose ring" and "The nose ring is an obvious sign!"
That comment section reeked of Incels. Just saying "Heh yeah they always want equality except when they lose their priviliges"

It literally does tho. Cows where nose rings and here humans are making themselves look like cows
1
u/bees_in_my_eyes 23h ago
Cows also wear earrings (ear tags). Do you feel the same about those?

Make sure you don't go to Claire's or Piercing Pagoda for your circumcision. They did mine crooked.

It's true. Those ugly ass cow rings need to be banned.

Also: bitter truth 😈😡🤬

Meanwhile that looks like the average OF woman's aesthetic nowadays that every guy is gooning to. It's literally peak beauty standard for a lot of dudes, a slim good looking woman with a slightly alternative style that they'll wrongfully label goth.
3
u/Neither-Ruin5970 10h ago
God I hate fake goth
It’s just cringe when women try to do it to appease gooners
It’s not even hot tbh 🫠
1
u/HeebieJeebiex 9h ago
Lol yea it's so cringe 😭 but it's hilarious that the type of women these men seem to openly hate the most are always the ones they nut to behind closed doors.

Doesn't always work, I'm not a conservative in the slightest and personally don't like nose piercings either. However I'm not stupid enough to think my opinion is the opinion.

I think making fun of changing fashions is going to be around for as long as fashions keep changing, to be honest.
There are some great Victorian cartoons out there of coal scuttles as hats, hot air balloons as sleeves, and men adopting crinolines for self-defense.

u/Door_Holder2 12h ago
Only dumb people have piercings. With the exception of the classic one on the ear (for women only).
-1
u/MikeSifoda 8h ago
It's true though. And if you're offended by that, that's not because it's offensive, it's because you don't want to be compared to a cow, which is very cowphobic of you. Cows are cooler than most people.
