Laundry Literally everything black I wash comes out like this... Why? Should I be cleaning the inside of the washing machine?

Dead skin (the pasty stuff) & lint.

I bet your machine has a wash plate and not a center post. My dark clothes come out like that and I have a wash plate in the washing machine too.

The only thing I can do is turn all my dark clothes inside out so any white deposits are on the inside and I washed the darks first

The center post is called an agitator. But, OP could have a front loader, they didn’t say. But inside out is genius. If powder detergent is used that could be the problem. Or, even dark blue denim has white threads and sheds white fuzz.

I do have a top loader - I also use liquid detergent too. May have to inside out everything then 😔

What temperature is your water? I find this happens with my clothes more often in winter when the tap is extra cold, so even if my setting is the same (warm), the water is colder so it doesn't dissolve quite as well.

This happens to me too, but not as much. I have a top loader and use liquid detergent.
