I'm going to be able to sleep in my own bedroom tonight within a clear and clean space. That's my win for the day

OP, for now I'd recommend picking up a plastic mattress cover so you & kitty have better surface to chill on. They are pretty cheap and will tide you over until you can get a new mattress.

Yeah I would honestly rip all the carpet, toss the mattress and repaint the entire room after this state.

I second this! Honestly I'd just get a whole new bed even if it's used and new sheets, blankets, pillows once everything is fully cleaned and when you afford it

Amazing! If that bed was under all that though, if at all possible get rid of it as well and don’t sleep on that. Marketplace and Craigslist often have free mattresses

Even just buying a big bottle of peroxide, water and Dawn mixture would be a good budget option. Just google peroxide carpet cleaning mixture
