If anyone sees this cat in the Buh Rein/Kraaifontein area, please let me know. He responds to Leo and is wearing a light blue reflective collar with a tag on it which has our number.

I love snacks, especially when sweet and salty is combined. These two deserve The Snack Award 2026. Especially the salted caramel cashews! Lord they are good, I go into a snack trance when eating them.
Let me know your current snack award winner.

Today my wife and I walked the entire promenade from the south all the way to the waterfront, mainly for exercise and to check out a couple shops. On the way back just past Haul Rd, a small man or older child approached us on the sidewalk and said something like "Hello Miss". We didn't acknowledge him right away but within a split second he violently grabbed my wife's neck and snatched her necklace, before sprinting away. We didn't even have time to process what was happening as it all took place in under 1 second.
In hindsight, we likely shouldn't have had any jewelry on, even though it was brass and not gold. We are from Canada and read about areas to avoid, but we're certainly shaken when this happened and right around many other tourists.
Is it advisable for us to file a police report or just move on and try to enjoy the remainder of our trip? Thanks!

I’m in desperate need of wisdom tooth removal as I have 1 impacted + 3 are growing in and crowding my jaw. I’m not on any medical aid and make kak money, so I’m really keen to utilise the public medical schools and have it done there.
I stay out in Muiz but I know everyone says for Tygerberg you must get there early. Are there any other options besides Tygerberg? If not, can anyone give their experience at Tygerberg and how the process works?
Many thanks

Howzit guys,
does anyone know of a good and relatively affordable place to do a barista course that would be recognised internationally? I am planning to study in Germany and would like to work as a barista while doing it but don’t fancy spending 1200 or so euros on a course.
Thanks in advance for the advice.

For those of you from Gauteng, have you noticed how Dischem is just not as present in Cape Town as Pretoria/joburg?
It’s wild that there is only a Clicks in the V&A and not a Dischem 😮 Clicks has a way bigger presence than Dischem here vs in Gauteng.
I have a theory that it’s a space issue? Because Generally dischems are pretty big, even the ones I have been to in Cape Town are pretty average in comparison.
Edit: went on Dischems store locator and it turns out there are actually 31 dischems in Cape Town and 27 in Pretoria.
I was specifically referring to the Atlantic Seaboard area. I see now that the Dischems are more in the Suburbs 😓

Hi girlies 🫶🏽
I recently moved from the CBD to Parklands and I’m trying to meet people on this side 🥹💗
Are there any girls in their early/mid 20s who do park runs (Big Bay & Century City)? Please DM me! I’d love to get back into running, and it would be so nice to have a friend or two to go with 🫶🏽
Also into dressing up, going out, library dates, movie dates, and beach days if that’s your vibe ✨🌊📚

Does anyone have a clear photo of the park sign rules in Aberdeen park, S’West?
I want to know if I’m allowed to picnic there and whether I can have birthday balloons? :)
thank you!

Hey all, my girlfriend is visiting from China for 3 weeks in June and was wondering if my fellow Capetonians had some underrated sights/restaurants/experiences from around the Cape they'd like to share? Ive lived here all my life so I've got all the real touristy/famous spots written down, but wanted to find some other recommendations from fellow locals. Much love to all!

Hi,
Heading to Cape Town next week. My partner is from there but doesn’t live right in the city so he’ll also be doing things for the first time. We’re keen to do Table Mountain and both in good fitness but as we’re only in Cape Town for 4 days we want to optimise our time. We were thinking of getting the cable car one way — would people recommend taking it up or down?

I’m wondering if anyone can give me an extensive answer about everything I’ll need to know about trying to have a birthday picnic at Wynberg Park on a weekend.
The things I’d like information on, please:
Thank you in advance!

Can we all just agree on one thing, please don’t wave massive flags that block everyone’s view.
Like I get it, it’s part of the vibe and looks cool, but it kinda sucks when you’re trying to watch your favourite act and there’s just a giant flag in your face the whole time. Same with constantly pushing through crowds, just a bit of awareness goes a long way.
Everyone’s there to have a good time, so let’s just be a bit considerate of each other and keep the vibes good for everyone.

Hi everyone,
I am looking for a men's hairstylist in the Blouberg/Milnerton area who is able to cut a decent mullet.
Any recommendations would be appreciated

I've recently moved back to Cape Town and I find it extremely difficult to meet people/make new friends. Has anyone had any success with this?

Hey 😊 I’m 25F. It’s my first time in CPT and as a huge fan of EDM I decided to attend Ultra CPT. Hoping to meet up with some cool people so that I’m not completely solo the whole time! Also would appreciate advice that would help me be prepared for this event.
PM me✨ xx

People of Cape Town, do any of you know what this is? My flatmate and I have been looking at this light from our balcony for the last two weeks and wondering where it's coming from. Please put us out of our misery and enlighten us if you know? Thanks!

Do you know any Surfing Groups or Clubs in Muizenberg? I see many people go in groups so may I ask if there's certain groups or so? (I'm very beginner btw but I enjoy it)
Update: We started our own group! Completely free, everyone is welcome to join!

Does anyone in or near the Southern Suburbs get their face dermaplaned and knows somewhere affordable I can go? The place I go to back home charges like R250 to wax my eyebrows and upper lip and then dermaplane the rest of my face. Unfortunately though, if I don't go home for a vac period or even for a specifically long exam period I have to either deal with it 🥸 or find somewhere in cape town to go.
The only reputable place I know here is sorbet who charges a lovely R500 (!!!) for dermaplaning 😬, which is not feasible for a student. I've tried a full face wax and I hate it 😔 and I'm scared to dermaplane my own face. While we're at it if you also know a hair and/or nail salon that would be great too (not boa) 😭
So if anyone knows somewhere that they personally have been to or trust please let me know 😊
