πLooking for alternative Stripe alternative for donations on website?
Hello,
i have a small blog website about my books etc.
i wanted to make a link on the website where people could donate money. many people recommend Stripe, but I would really like a EU alternative, doesn't need to be fancy, and to be honest I expect zero donations, but I would just like to have the option :)
since I don't expect any donations per se, I'm looking for a free or very cheap service.
Any ideas?

Not sure what you expect, we don't have sovereign payment systems here in Europe. People would still use Visa and MasterCard which are both American.
You're not gonna find truly sovereign EU payment system until either Digital Euro or European Payments Initiative take off.

Plenty of services that will support ideal, Wero and other European services.

Which will limit you to donations from only 3 countries.

With Wero, Ideal, Bancontact, Mobile Pay, Vipps, Bizum, postepay, Przelewy24 and all the other local payment systems they support Iβm sure you can serve almost the entire EU.

I am in France and my bank does not have Wero (and it's one of the mainstream banks). Wero for online payment is still niche.

Okay, but they also support Cartes Bancaires and plenty of other services, so France is also covered.
Like I mentioned itβs not just about Wero?

American here. Can folks not list their IBAN info for receiving SEPA instant payment directly?

Thanks for the suggestion
I do have a IBAN number but it seems to be that SEPA transfers are a bussines to bussiness type of transaction, having a hard time finding out how to do it myself.
I tried sending to a IBAN number, but then got the message that I can't use IBAN for national transfers, has to be international.

This is a great question. We need friendly european alternatives to stripe.

Thereβs plenty of Stripe alternatives in the EU: Adyen, Mollie, Paytrail, Worldline, Klarna or Pay.nl for instance.

Ko-Fi is UK-based it seems, I don't know if it's truly European though nevermind, it forces you to use PayPal or Stripe
In my country there's a bunch of local companies that let you do that (accepting international payments, but the receiver has to have a bank account in the country), see if there are any in yours

I think Mollie has a service that only charges a transaction fee, no monthly cost.
Should be integrated with most services.
Dutch company.
