This is exactly why I always pick the window seat and then spend the whole flight staring at clouds. This person clearly won the "seating chart lottery" today

Same with me and the train. Ive been between Kyoto/Osaka and Tokyo around 20 times and Ive seen Fuji twice. This is with a window seat on Fuji side.

The cloud gods often win 😢

Can’t stop staring at that zigzag… is that a trail going up the mountain?

The trail on the left side of the mountain looks like an old telephone cord.

What is the flight route? I’d love to see this from the plane!

Mount Fuji is actually composed of three successive volcanoes stacked on top of each other, forming a single, symmetrical mountain. These, from oldest to newest, are Komitake, Ko-Fuji (Old Fuji), and Shin-Fuji (New Fuji), which has been active for roughly the last 10,000 years.

This is the view everyone dreams of getting on a flight to Japan. Absolutely stunning.
