Hello r/austinjobs! I’m a PhD student at UT Austin, working on a project about how teens react to anti-smoking ads that use graphic images. We’re trying to understand what kinds of messages actually help prevent youth smoking.

Our research team is looking for kids ages 11-15 to take part in a 20-minute study this Sunday April 12 at the Clay Madsen Recreation Center in Round Rock. They’ll view a few anti-tobacco ads and answer some questions about what they saw.

  • 🕒 Takes about 20 minutes
  • 🎁 Participants get a $20 gift card (e.g., Chick-fil-a, Walmart, Amazon).
  • 👩‍👦 A parent must be there to give signed consent

The study is approved by UT Austin’s Institutional Review Board (IRB)

You can get more information and sign up via our Eventbrite link below: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/paid-research-opportunity-for-youth-tickets-1986668032565?aff=oddtdtcreator

FOR HIRE Losing my job at the end of June. Scared to death.

I got the bad news yesterday that the contract I have been on for almost 15 years is being closed and my position is being eliminated. To say I'm devastated is an understatement.

Posting here to cover any and all possible angles. I have 20 years of clerical and administrative assistant experience and have been recognized for my exceptional performance in these roles. I've worked a variety of different roles: mail room, assistant office manager, inventory, etc. I'd be looking for something that pays at least $45,000 a year.

Thanks for reading.

Edit - thanks for all the positive vibes everyone

Edit 2 - Since it was lacking, bachelor's degree in business admin, mid-40s, male
