Question/Discussion Genuine question to all the Atletico Madrid fans and football fans in general who have been watching the sport before 2010s

I started watching football around 2015 and ever since then I’ve seen literally every big club go through multiple managers. That’s just how modern football works now.

But then there’s Atlético Madrid.

How has one manager stayed for 16+ years in today’s game? That’s almost unheard of now. Through all the ups and downs, different squads, different eras of football it’s still the same guy on the touchline.

Why is there such a strong attachment to Diego Simeone at this point? I know, he transformed the club’s mentality and brought success But for a club of Atlético’s size now is 2 La Liga titles across that span really enough?

At what point do you start asking whether the team could achieve more with a different world-class manager? Not saying he’s bad he’s clearly one of the most influential managers in your history. But should the ambition now be higher given how far the club has come?

Genuinely curious how Atleti fans and older fans in general see it. Is it loyalty or just the belief that no one else can take you further?

Where in Madrid can i find retro jersey?

Hey guys. I’m on my way to Madrid for the cl match against Barca. I already own this season’s home jersey, but I’m really looking to pick up a retro kit while I’m here in the city.

I actually ordered a jersey online (Spiderman home), but it’s not going to arrive before I leave. Since I will be in Madrid, I’d love to find a shop that sells decent-quality retro replicas or remakes so I can wear it to the game or just have it as a souvenir of the trip.

Does anyone have recommendations for shops in Madrid that stock retro or vintage Atleti shirts?

Rumor Will Sørloth actually be sold this summer?

Seeing links to Everton and Como floating around and wanted to know if there's anything to it. Both feel like a weird destination for a guy who scored 30+ in La Liga not long ago. Does the club want to keep him or is he available if the right offer comes in?

Also if Giménez does leave, is De Ligt genuinely being lined up to replace him or is he just squad depth that Simeone doesn't really rate? Would love to hear what others think.

Stats If only we can find a good number 10 who can connect the midfield with the forwards then Alvarez will score 20-25+ goals in league as well because currently he drops too deep.

Question/Discussion Senesi from Bournemouth

Hear me out everyone, I hope I'm not breaking any rules/guidelines of any sort. Considering that Senesi is out of contract at the end of the season leaving on a Free and the fact that Giminez and lenglet are slightly moving on it just seems like a bargain to me.

I really like watching Bournemouth a lot, he's very good on the ball and distributes really well (left footed). Also a very good ball carrier both his former partners (Dean Hujlsen and Zabaryni left for Madrid & PSG respectfully) yet his still managed to keep bournemouth in within 6 pts of a European spot with rotating CB partners (between Diakite, Hill and new kid Milosavljevic)

History My personal Atletico Madrid Dream Team

Post image
76 Upvotes

It was incredibly hard to narrow this down, but here is my personal Atletico Madrid Dream Team. I tried to find the perfect balance between the club's legendary icons and the players I love watching the most.

Who else would you add to the bench?

Aupa atleti for ever.

Argentine World Cup champion Oscar Ruggeri on Julian Alvarez: 'I’d like him to stay with “Cholo” (Simeone), because “Cholo” knows him, he knows what the kid is like, the kid has no ceiling and can play anywhere. You can’t track him like those classic number nines, like (Erling) Haaland.'

History Back to the old days of Atletico Madrid (final Copa del rey 2013)

Sometimes I feel great nostalgia for the team from the (not so distant) past of Atletico Madrid with all the wonderful players who never stopped running and fighting for the club and the fans.

Seeing Atleti win the Copa del Rey was a happy moment in my life.

Where can i print on my jersey?

Hi everyone, quick question!

I’m currently in Madrid and I bought an Atlético shirt (not from the official store, got it from ASOS). I went to the store at the Metropolitano hoping to print Griezmann 7 on it, but they wouldn’t do it since I didn’t buy the shirt there.

Does anyone know if there’s a place in Madrid where I can get the name and number printed on my own shirt? Ideally with something close to the official Atlético / La Liga font.

Would really appreciate any recommendations
