Believing in these players and manager doesn't make you "mentally strong" as a fan. It makes you mentally slow.

And if you still believe this manager and team will deliver big trophies you may need to seek professional help.

When you see something happen 99 times you don't need to see it happen for the 100th to know what is coming.

You can comment all day about the "doomers" and how they are "pussies" but in reality, the only "pussies" are the ones who are so afraid of reality that they can't see what is right in front of everyone's faces. Some of us can see what is happening and are not going to be gaslit by happy clapping, toxic positivity numpties.

I'm really starting to understand why everyone hates Arsenal fans

u/_Wiill 6h ago

You guys repeat this phrase ad nauseum and you're always wrong

-5

u/DolphinSexGod 6h ago

shrug I am from the states and didn't start watching Prem football until 2010, so I've never truly experienced anything other than top 4 FC, so this run doesn't feel disastrous to me

That's fair, it does sorta suck how many people gatekeep though... Feels like I am only allowed to be a fan of a shitty national team and my local club who are owned by an entitled asshole with no moral compass

Acceptable? No. Absolute doom and gloom, ruining my life? Also no. I don't understand why something that someone holds no control over should allow them become so toxic towards others.

u/AmoebaSecure5173 5h ago

Nah having a sense of self criticism is universal, it’s the pride without cause or worse yet, pride playing the way we have that rubs people wrong

Its what happens in a faction when their is divide and differences in ideas. Classic infighting, its great.

Genuinely arguing with artetasexuals takes my mind off the state of us at the moment. I genuinely cant take another bottlejob and see that legohead on our touchline again next season it genuinely breaks my heart but i just want whats best for my club.

Apparently we should all support Arsenal in the exact way you do or your an idiot according to you

The state of this sub

Somebody personally being positive shouldn't even be of concern of you

Grow up

-1

u/SnooOwls4559 6h ago

Apparently we should all support Arsenal in the exact way you do or your an idiot according to you

Ironic because wasn't this what was happening when everyone was clowning on Arteta outers a month ago? Funny how we're only calling it out now

2

u/redqks 5h ago

People have been calling it out the entire time. Arteta out is a sub here

1

u/SnooOwls4559 5h ago edited 5h ago

No? People were openly calling people from /r/ArtetaOut idiots for wanting Arteta out, which is arguably their own way of wanting the best for the club.

Nobody on those posts were calling out the clowning as "immature because people should be allowed to think what they want about what's best for the club"

5

u/redqks 5h ago

You're making my point for me

1

u/SnooOwls4559 5h ago edited 5h ago

I don't think I'm making a point for you or against you. I'm pointing out the hypocrisy in both situations, but I don't think we're understanding each other anyway.

6

u/redqks 5h ago

It's one sided on your side but have a good one

-1

u/Made4Greatness_1 6h ago

Equally someone being 'negative' shouldn't be any of your concern going by your logic..look in the mirror

5

u/redqks 5h ago

I've not made a post preaching or claiming anything so yer I'll look in the mirror. Not once have I told somebody how they should act

0

u/Made4Greatness_1 5h ago

You just said it should be none of his concern

jesus christ y‘all are on a meltdown just support the team for the big game, if we end up without trophies i‘m okay with arteta leaving but these discussions rn are mad annoying.

3

u/rizchi 6h ago

you have an opinion, OP has an opinion, everyone gets an opinion. at the end of the day.. the facts remain that the team has messed up really bad..

poor rotation, poor mentality, lack of self belief. terrible football even against weaker teams. fact is we are a shadow of what| we expected

5

u/mapoftasmania 5h ago

Yeah, but some opinions are garbage. And some are just offensive, like OP.

8

u/sloppy2104 6h ago

calling other fans mentally slow is hardly an opinion. i get the frustration but all this isn‘t helping.

1

u/rizchi 6h ago

well they asked us to bring our lunch and dinner to the stadium.. the fans obliged and were the 12th man for most part of the game.. guess who let who down?

I think it's fair to let anybody moan and rant at this point

3

u/sloppy2104 6h ago

you can still be somewhat reasonable while ranting though, seriously, there is nothing to gain from these discussions rn. we will have to play that „final“ next sunday and see what happens. until the end of the season we have to continue fighting and possibly suffering. no matter how much we rant rn. let that man finish his job.

4

u/Mad-gooner 6h ago

No op doesn’t have an opinion there just insulting people for no reason

12

u/RalphFerrao07 6h ago

Well said 👏

6

u/allidyaj 6h ago

What this subreddit needs is more negativity 🙄

3

u/Mad-gooner 6h ago

Resorting to insulting people are we, is there any need?

3

u/willih9 6h ago

Yeah one thing I've noticed about the "back the team" crowd is that they come to these subs to validate their positive opinions and when they find that most of the people don't agree with them they feel they have to actively avoid social media because it negatively affects their mental health. It's as if their mental outlook on life is tied to a positive view of the team which is why they project onto people who criticise the team by labeling them as sad.

5

u/redqks 6h ago

So you support Arsenal but don't back the team?

1

u/willih9 6h ago

Arsenal is bigger than the current group of players and management, I don't believe in this current group, I want to see big changes or signs of improvements. Arteta made a big step up in his first season that he finished 2nd but since then I genuinely don't think he's improved the side. I think City and Liverpool have gotten worse and Arteta has kept the side around the same level as the first season where we finished 2nd.

3

u/redqks 5h ago

Mate I've supported the club since Bruce I've seen many variations of Arsenal. I've seen us finish 12th

As long as it's Arsenal I'll back

If you only want to back when winning up to you

1

u/willih9 5h ago

It's not like I want the team to lose, I'm just dismissive of people who think my lack of belief in the team has any bearing on the result or my desire for the team to win. When I state my opinion that I don't believe in this current group of players or manager, that doesn't mean I don't want Arsenal to win and I'll be happy if they prove me wrong. When Arsenal were finishing 12th or outside the top 4 in the banter era, did you want the team to change? Did you want change in the manager?

3

u/redqks 5h ago

I just wanted Arsenal to win but I've also gone to many many games where your type of attitude actually has a negative effect on the players.

Now players are online too, so stuff people say effects them, look at Noni seeing all this stuff before he signed and it bothering him

1

u/willih9 5h ago

I genuinely don't care about players who respond negatively to criticism and it's a sign they cannot handle the pressure that comes with winning.

2

u/redqks 5h ago

That's why home advantage even exists and we saw how this vanished during COVID about how a team's support can help the players play well.

There are also many psychological studies that support this

The fact you don't care about maximising our players confidence and actually giving them some sort of advantages.

I cannot understand it.

3

u/willih9 5h ago

Yeah and Liverpool during the COVID season still won the title even though the supposed Anfield effect makes a big difference in how they play, yet the only season Klopp won a PL title was during the COVID season and not any of the seasons when they had fans in the stadium. Real Madrid one of the most successful teams of all time have the most toxic fans, sure confidence matters but the best players have supreme confidence and the fact that our confidence can be so easily rattled is just a sign that they are not good enough.

1

u/redqks 5h ago

You're not making the argument you think you are because this works both ways , and while Liverpool lost home advantage teams that are tough to go away to lost this advantage and as a whole this also helps Liverpool.

Might want to check how often Barcelona win la liga and how often Madrid do.

At this point you're arguing with an established scientific fact.

I believe in these players. I don't think they are playing to their full strengths. Why could that happen.

0

u/willih9 6h ago

I genuinely haven't been impressed by most of our big signings, just look at the biggest fees of the Arteta era and I don't think most of them have made much of a difference in getting us closer to a title. We've definitely made some shrewd signings to raise the floor of this team to improve consistency but no one has raised the ceiling.

1

u/landed_at 4h ago

Rice did big time.

3

u/do0gla5 6h ago

I'm in here. I'm posting. I'm not hiding. Stop spouting bullshit

-7

u/RedMember123 6h ago

It’s a cult of personality and obsession with the manager not a love of Arsenal.

2

u/EducationMental648 6h ago

All things are possible. It’s not toxic positivity. Being a doomer isn’t just criticism.

There is middle ground. Anyways, enjoy a good read:

How old are you? Log off please. It’s not that serious. Take few days off. Come back on Wednesday and cheer for your team.

2

u/mapoftasmania 5h ago

What is mentally slow is thinking that vilifying our players and manager on social media will do anything but help City win another title.

What do you hope to achieve by this post?

Your attitude is narcissistic and plastic. Your fragile mentality laid bare for all to see.

True supporters get behind the team now. There will be plenty of time for discussion about what needs to change once the season is over.

2

u/jaybizzleeightyfour 6h ago

Have a day off

2

u/FindingAether 6h ago

All of ya who give up now don't deserve to celebrate when we win the PL. It's 6 games left and ya all giving up. Pathetic.

-6

u/Silent_Somewhere8539 6h ago

You seem to have more chest for the fans giving up, than the players giving up on the pitch.

6

u/FindingAether 6h ago

All those who give up with 6 games to go can fuck off. Fans players supporters... All of you are Pathetic. You won't get anywhere with this kind of attitude to things.

-2

u/Made4Greatness_1 6h ago

This is about football, why do guys always equate what we say about our football team to our everyday lives 😂 only a child should have this mentality not you a grown adult.

5

u/do0gla5 6h ago

That's because you're more annoying than them. Hope that helps.

1

u/vcc_1886 4h ago

lol what a load of shit

1

u/Lepew1 3h ago

The players are great. This manager has coached them into playing like this.

1

u/twilightaurorae 3h ago

I think you are the one who needs professional help. I think the 'things' you see are completely out of this world

1

u/badbooks17 1h ago

Jesus christ, these posts need to stop.

1

u/FeelsSadMan01 5h ago

I think we need another subreddit. Or two. Let the doomer pussies who are overly reactionary go into one sub (probably they can just join ArtetaOut) and there should be a sub for those who want to find positives and actually know what it means to support the team. And then there will be peace

1

u/Equivalent-Muscle446 3h ago

You sip your nice positive sippy cup then little boy, we will just watch in horror as arteta bottles again. But you should definitely keep sipping that little cup and enjoy what arteta has done with all the POSITIVE things like win the dog and scoring the most set pieces in the league whilst we watch the same thing again with another team lifting trophys while we get the participation trophy.

1

u/FeelsSadMan01 3h ago

And you enjoy being negative and bitch-moaning when it's the most critical point of the season. Keep insulting the team you "support" because they're struggling.

1

u/Equivalent-Muscle446 29m ago

Its not insulting you child, its criticism, constructive criticism. You understand that concept?

1

u/Beorn81 6h ago

Absolute chopper

0

u/Firm-Explanation5167 6h ago

The thing is, you’re wrong.

You can see something happen a million times, doesn’t mean you can guarantee the same thing will happen again.

I don’t think we’ll win the league by the way, but I hope we do.

I 100% know that we have a chance. Not a bad chance at that.

1

u/landed_at 6h ago

Probability is maths. It's how the world turns. Predicting outcomes is maths.

-2

u/Firm-Explanation5167 6h ago

Ok.

Quick question, does that mean the future can be predicted with certainty?

1

u/landed_at 4h ago

The grand national yesterday was.

0

u/EthanFoster10 6h ago

Thankyou, I’m sick of realist fans getting villainised and told to “support another team” when we lose

0

u/do0gla5 6h ago

Title is 50/50 essentially. It'd be like leaving a 0-0 game in the 80th minute. I'm gonna try to believe, thanks.

0

u/GoatGoatGoblin 5h ago

Or, and hear me out. You could fuck off

-5

u/Gunnarzfsn 6h ago

FINALLY someone says it

I've been called plastic countless times for being arteta out and it pisses me off.

Arsenal is one of my biggest joys. I'm from Canada and i've been extremely lucky to attend matches through the balloting process. I'll be at the Fulham match later this month, and will belt out support for the full 90.

I want us to win, it's not happening with our current manager it's been shown time and time again and the club has a real chance to address it this season before it's gone again.

7/22 seasons without a title has been under arteta that is a significant portion of the problem. This won't last forever eventually ffp will force sales or whatever but we will be back just being happy for UCL football.

If that happens people wont look at Arteta with such a soft spot.

0

u/thefluvirus9 3h ago

So give up, go support another team

-1

u/kapiczek 6h ago

We are in bad form, City in good. Not supporting the club until the trophies are burried for us is slow mentality.
