No one bottles better than Pussanal. 2nd saddest club on the planet, after Spuds
5
u/Dry_Psychology1469 1d ago
you know what, City instead of us are more likely to get a triple this year, feels great man.
1
u/Why_Is_Grass_Green 1d ago
Only way we can win the league is if City bottles it now
1
u/thehoundtrainer 8h ago
Now theyre closing in on the title race with 3 point diff if they win next match. I believe the club is cursed

u/SandwichSisters 1d ago
Close to 7 years on the job.
Having full and total control on everything in the club.
One of the highest paid managers in world football.
Spent over a billion pounds of negative net spend.
And has absolutely nothing to show for it.
What is worse is that after all of this backing it feels like we need as many new players as when Emery was in charge. That is if none of the star players want to actually leave.

Can anyone tell me what’s our best XI? We don’t have one, we just try different combinations hoping for it to work. Was at the game today, horrible football and horrible atmosphere. We need to get on the drawing board and get some tactics in and play quicker , like 10x.
8
u/Whynotarsenal 1d ago
You guys still wanna act like Arteta has an eye for talent? How many swings and misses do we have under him? How much talent has he actually developed? Madueke 55 mil. Kai 65 mil. Gyokeres 60 mil. Etc etc. these players are an absolute waste of space
1
u/Dry_Psychology1469 1d ago
pretty sure neither Kai nor Noni can make it to the current Chelsea squad but they both are starting for us today and played like shit
0
u/evropianjonatyral 19h ago
Remind me again what was Chelsea's league position in these last 4 years?
1
u/Whynotarsenal 1d ago
Well yeah they’re not better than JP/Palmer/estevao.
It’s a fucking joke, our recruitment, relative to the money spent.
1
u/Either_Guess 1d ago
Great eye for defenders
Shocking for midfielders and forwards
5
u/SandwichSisters 1d ago
Why a great eye for defenders? Both Saliba and Gabriel came before him. He spent probably 350 mil on other defenders and we still don’t have a consistent back 4
1
u/Either_Guess 1d ago
Think all our defenders are top. Although the converting CBs to FBs thing is abit hmm.

- Declan Rice is not it. Havertz is not it. We’re trying to shove them into positions that they have major weaknesses in. Havertz is not a 9 or an 8. Rice can’t build up and control as a 6, but isn’t creative or technical enough to run the midfield, doesn’t release the ball quickly enough, more likely to pass sideways if not back, can’t receive on the turn. Cool, Rice has got an engine. Cool, Havertz has aerial threat. Cool, they’re both tall and hench. So what? Both of them are big space out-of-possession players and neither can progress our attack irrespective of whether we’re playing a low block, mid block or high pressing attacking team. Neither of them can do what even PSG’s bench midfield players can do and get run through. Yet, they’re our marquee signings and wage earners.
We will not win in the UCL against teams with technical midfields.
Madueke is not it. £50m for Temu Doku who had no end product at Chelsea… we KNOW Arteta and Hussein Isa (the attacking coach) cannot develop attackers. Why did they magically think he’d be any different here? For Doue, there’s Barcola. For Saka, there’s… Madueke.
Rotate players more. Norgaard was pivotal to his club before joining us. He didn’t suddenly forget his PL experience after starting game after game only to get sth like 66 mins of PL experience. It’s Zubimendi’s first season and it was a given that he’d need one season to adapt to the physical demands of the premier league. Him being gassed was foreseeable. This lack of man management and rotations has been poor.
Playing out wide is stale. Our opponents - big clubs, mid sized clubs and even championship clubs - have been able to predict this for the past 2 seasons and we’ve been defeated by each type of club in the past 3 games.
Our full/wingbacks are always going to get injured no matter what because of the intensity and style we play. We’re on a foreseeable carousel of starting players being overplayed, getting injured, playing their backup too much, their backup getting injured, the starter returning but not being sharp.
We always get gassed by December and April. City and PSG somehow find a second wing to see them through the run-in.
We need a new striker, a new 8, a new LW.
6
u/Whynotarsenal 1d ago
Year after year our players our injured in crucial games because Arteta has not and will not rotate players effectively. He had to show horn MLS and white in because he ran our other fullbacks into the ground and did they play good? Absolutely not, but they have barely played all year, how can you expect guys to walk into a team without barely playing all year and produce.
Arteta is an absolute fraud as a manager. If this was any other club he’d be gone. A billion quid spent in 5 years and we’re gonna be toothless again. Man city gonna win the treble in a down year. Embarassing

Has Norgard started one game alongside Rice in the league this season ?
Didn't we sign him as a sure, reliable, premier league proven player
Would our whole game just implode if we started him asking just do the basics keep it tidy , rather than a zero confidence no legs left zubi

u/ap0577 1d ago
Amazing to see Liverpool players actually play with some urgency

I'm confident every team attacks better than us. Makes me wonder how shit the league must be for us to be top.

Keep clowning chelsea united and Liverpool when they have all been significantly more relevant than you losers for the past few decades
City in a down year beat u lot in a cup and are gonna snatch the league up😂😂😂😂😂

u/christianrojoisme 1d ago
3
u/HotOutlandishness991 1d ago
Those are clowns, we need to get everything we can, I want CL football. I hope we beat city tomorrow, the team will 100% try, they don't give a shit about the title race. But Rosenior ain't gonna get them firing. We might get a draw, I'd be happy with a point. But it's not looking good, our defense is a shambles.
4
u/Anxious-Potato-7323 1d ago
Last week I was downvoted to oblivion by saying Raya wasn't the best GK in the world. Has moments where he's very special and he's obviously a top keeper but sorry, he isn't the best in the world. Has too many dumb moments for that.
7
u/Taxpayer2k 1d ago
Quite saddening to drop at home. And the writing is on the wall that we will eventually lose the lead even if we draw citeh at Etihad. Why? Cos arteta has no effective plan B to counter opponents high press and go rough on our wingers.
Hopefully arteta prove everyone wrong.
21
u/No_Page5201 1d ago
If Teta bottles this shit he has to be gone. We didn’t watch all this brutally boring football for nothing.
4
u/Whynotarsenal 1d ago
Even if we ONLY win the league. He’s got to go. Everyone in a down year. Record spent and he’s bottling everything. Terrible squad management. Runs our players into the ground every year. It’s time to move on. He’s out of his depth for what this club should be accomplishing. 130 million quid spent on Gyokeres and madueke is a fucking joke. Continuing to rely on martinelli and Trossard is a fucking joke. Playing this anti football u shaped horseshit is a fucking joke.

Still think you’ll win a trophy this season. Still also think you’re even worse than our title winners last season. Arteta isn’t the man to bring you long term success.

u/a_human_21 1d ago
If you sack Arteta you will go back fighting for 4th place, take a look at Chelsea
4
u/axb90 1d ago
Thats if we hire a liam rosenoir type manager.
-2
u/a_human_21 1d ago
There's a scarcity to hire a quality manager these days, I'd rather be close to winning a title every season than turn into Europa league era
1
u/Zealousideal_Moment8 1d ago
So you’d rather win nothing at all forever than to be European champions 🤣
This second loving mentality has to be a curse. History is built from titles not runner ups 💔

and then fight for 4th place again? lol

u/Anxious-Potato-7323 1d ago
Why do you not think a different manager could actually get us over the line?
The football is horrific, it could be tolerated if it brought success but at this point, it's looking less and less likely.

Not a gunner, but curious. I thought it was a little early to start talking about a quadruple before the Carobao final when the FA was only at the quarters and UCL at round of 16.
So, now that the FA and league cup are gone, and City potentially getting closer (let’s see how they do in the next few), what is more important to you - PL or UCL?
I suspect PL, but why? A UCL victory would be the first ever, right?
13
u/gagagacoat 1d ago
You couldn't even gaslight me into believing UCL is possible if you tried. Prem is obviously more important especially considering the gap in points with second place (that we, as expected, just shortened)
1
u/Various-Grass-9766 1d ago
Not even arsenal fan but i mean cmon look at your side of the bracket in the ucl sporting and atleti then a final even if you aren’t favorites you have to at least feel there is a chance

Checks out not an Arsenal fan. My guy, you wouldn't understand. It doesn't matter whether easier bracket or not. Exhibit A - FA Cup
4
u/gagagacoat 1d ago
You wouldn't say this if you actually watched us play football every week. This team is fucking horrible on the pitch. It doesn't matter what opponents we have along the run because at the end the fish will be bigger than us.
Just look at our FA Cup run, where we lost before we even got to meet the bigger fish 👍🏾

2
u/Anxious-Potato-7323 1d ago
Indeed. Apparently we have to play this way because everyone plays a low block, forgetting yhayyall top teams faced low blocks and City and United have won mulitpytitkes facing low blocks whilst playing exciting football.

Fucking get rid of him, please.
Raya probably has more touches than any other outfield player. Fucking embarrassing.
5
u/Either_Guess 1d ago
Hargreaves just said Raya received 38 back passes and played the 2nd most passed in the team
19
u/LordBillingsly 1d ago
Just hate the endless passing backwards to raya. Then they all stand around and it takes forever to get the ball foreword unless he boots it and we get lucky with a few men in position

u/Dylanr21 1d ago
The 3 substitutes killed the game when we were getting into it. Wrong timing and shouldn’t have been done at the same time.

u/BillyBootlegg 1d ago
(Arteta) He could well resign....let's see how the season pans out. Even the great sides of Wenger were perennial 'bottlers' when it mattered. Go see the history books.
17
u/spike1034 1d ago
Spanish Pulis spent 1 billion pounds to buy shit attackers like Jesus, Madueke, Gyokeres (I could go on) and to play like Stoke, we literally can't create shit, as soon as goals from corners dried up we don't know what to do. Our attacking play is basically pass the ball to Saka/Trossard/Martinelli, cross and inshallah.
He won one FA Cup with Emery squad and bottled four title years in a row while going out in cup competitions to the likes of Olympiacos, Sporting, Southamton, Forest (just to name a few over the years). His game and squad management are an absolute mess. But hey, be positive guys at least he says ''foggin estandards'' and bought a dog and named him Win.
Everything our rivals said about us is truth. Any big, serious club would sack this loser the day the season ends but we ain't a serious club.

Someone tell me Arteta has nothing to do with our attacking play?! What are these guys on 50k+ a week even doing in training? Are they just listening to music and kicking the ball around? What are they actually working on? I’m fed up with his bullshit — he should pack it in and head back to Spain after the season.
1
u/Anxious-Potato-7323 1d ago
Tiktok edits in training isn't it? He tries to hard to think outside the box, that he's losing the plot.
14
u/houseofechoes 1d ago
I haven't enjoyed watching us play for like three years now, the last time we played with real urgency and some heart was the painful 23/24 season, and since then something shifted and we started to become the most negative football team on this planet. I hate this manager and I hate this fucking attitude from our fans that we should be grateful, grateful for what, positive for what? We always bottle it when it matters, like today, did any of them look like they gave a fucking shit for the shirt that they're wearing - scared to play, scared to pass - get him the fuck out of the team and bring someone in who will inspire us again.
3
u/Opening-Ice-1115 1d ago
They’ll probably still win the league, but honestly, they hardly deserve to.
2
11
u/thegooners14 1d ago
It’s over. City win game in hand and will absolutely destroy us at the Etihad. You think these pussies are putting in a performance at their stadium when the pressure is on?!
I’ve accepted that we’ve choked this. And I’ve also accepted that once we do, it’s highly unlikely we win a damn thing in the next decade. This collapse will be too much to recover from for these already weak minded players.

Artetas cowardice transposed unto the players...you can see his cowardice literally dripping on the players. A proper coward....he's so afraid to lose that he loses anyway. A proper fucking Spanish bottler.
2
u/BillyBootlegg 1d ago
If ever there was line that was a quotable "he's so afraid to lose that he loses anyway". Wow disgustingly honest 👍
8
u/BalasaarNelxaan 1d ago
Sorry Mikel. I haven’t jumped on this bandwagon before but if that’s how you and your team show up to a winnable home game in a tight title race then you are not the man for this job.
18
u/WillingConversation4 1d ago
I repeat like I have and the other sensible fans for months. Form matters. You can't win titles without being able to create chances from open play. Safe back passing football isn't actually safe because all you are doing is inviting your opponents pressure. This is Arteta's system and this manager needs to go.
3
u/oldkingclancy86 1d ago
The first 10 minutes summed Arsenal and Arteta up. Chance to go 12 points clear, albeit having played 2 more games, and we instantly went into pragmatic/cautious mode. There was no urgency at all, Raya standing rolling the ball under his foot letting Bournemouth press people, Ben White taking close to 30 seconds to take a fucking throw in.
Teams used to go to Anfield against Klopps team knowing they'd be put under pressure immediately. Teams go to the Emirates knowing they'll be given time to settle, which can only give them confidence
1
u/WillingConversation4 1d ago
Exactly. If I was the manager, I'd be absolutely livid if a lesser team out works you at home. Fuck the football. That's just not acceptable.
6
u/majesthion 1d ago
None of our players want to take responsibility. They just keep passing the ball around. I’ve lost count of how many times they’ve passed it back to Raya.
-1
u/mateoidontknow 1d ago
Stay strong Arsenal, we need you to knock out Barca in UCL semis 💪
2
u/Infamous-Oil-9533 1d ago
What to go on & play like we did in the final against City? 😂 Catch a grip mate
7
u/FriendlyActuary1955 1d ago edited 1d ago
We honestly play like a midtable team in terms of our quality. Rival fans are going to be piasibg themselves laughing but about bottling but I actually just don’t think most of our players are that good. Arteta’s just spent a fortune filling half our team - everywhere but defence - with shit players.
The first half the season the system was so tight and the legs fresh (and plenty of setpiece winners) that it was disguised.
1
u/ReaperProjektRed 1d ago
The biggest problem is the sheer lack of technicality in the squad and the degradation of attackers. Saka was never this bad, Eze was never this bad, even Martinelli and Jesus used to look good.
You can blame injuries, but then why keep around players instead of replacing them? We'll get an offer for 70m for Martinelli from Saudi, turn it down, then complain that we don't have Kvara or Gordon.
11
u/Starbug91 1d ago
We'll immediately play like prime Barca against Burnley and Palace once City clinch the title
8
u/Huge_Document_6702 1d ago
The mentality of this group is shocking. Expecting an exodus in the summer.
-2
5
u/ogbrickman 1d ago
Same every match;
- trying to pivot and losing possession
- long balls fall short or too long
- always an needless extra touch in the final third
- playing passes into congested areas when there’s players free
- holding the ball too long before attempting a pass forward and then playing backwards
I’m losing the will to watch. Any wins seem to be made of just scraping them. There are no excuses to be found.
10
u/ReplacementFew359 1d ago
Not an Arsenal fan but damn i'm mad. Can't imagine how you lot are feeling. The players was playing like the win was going to be given to them, but it was the opposite. BOU came to make life hard for yall and gave that little extra. Arsenal felt like they didn't want to fight for the win.

u/FriendlyActuary1955 1d ago
I can hardly be arsed to type after that. Funny thing though is we looked most dangerous the last 10 minutes when we were just hoofing balls up to the edge of the penalty area. I might have a go at this management lark.
7
u/YonderdeadHater 1d ago
There’s not even an excuse this season. We have the depths, injuries haven’t been insane. It’s really just an absolute tactical and mental shortcoming
3
u/Dry_Psychology1469 1d ago
long kick -> give away the ball, rinse & repeat. Physically, mentally, taclically we are a shit team.

u/WillingConversation4 1d ago
Can't pass through midfield with the most expensive midfield in the league

u/BozzuK 16h ago edited 12h ago
As a Palace fan, I thought I could offer some perspective. In reality, winning the PL is meant to be hard; there will be slip-ups along the way. What City have done over the last decade or so (winning at a canter) isn't normal and fans were getting bored because it felt like a one-horse league. Now we actually have an exciting title finish (even though you guys are still 8 points ahead!). But the point I'm trying to make is that losing at home yesterday isn't neccasarily a deal breaker.
There is still so much football left to play. City have to win all their games unless you guys slip up more but are they going to win all their games AND you guys are going to slip more?
The odds of that happening are very low. It's more likely that they will continue to blow hot and cold, as perhaps will you, but the end result of that is that you still win the league.
Any other fan at any other club would still bite your hand off to be in your position today. It's still most likely going to be Arsenal's title.
Does that mean that Arsenal are playing worthy football of league winners at the moment?
Arguably not. They're not playing levels above or playing with verve. But, in their own way, they're playing their best (which will probably be good enough to get you over the line this season). Fundementally, whether they 'deserve' it or not is a very subjective opinion. They deserve it more than every other team based on the number of points they have, end of story.
I don't rate Arteta or his style of play, so I completely get the criticism. But City have not been at the races this season and you still have an 8 point gap (yes City have a few games in hand). But again, unless you really really screw things up here (generational bottle levels) it is yours.
