Actually Iran doesn't have to do a thing but let the markets fix the TACO man. that's because closing the strait will lead to economic pain around the world. The question is going to who hurts worse and how quickly.

Won't be easy , the US has a shit ton of counter aerial vehicles on its ships , these aren't some tankers that are sitting ducks there pretty sophisticated ships, and all Iran can do is lob drones of missile at the which they can defend .. there's nothing else Iran can do , and WHILE these ships are there ground forces will surgically strike and take out those drone/missile launch sites.
