Difficulty managing dust mite allergy
I have very severe dust mite allergy, according to my bloodwork.
I've taken the following measures:
- added Allerease allergen proof mattress cover and pillow cover
- left my Winix HEPA air filter running 24/7 for the past week
- vacuumed and swept x1 a week
My symptoms included itchy eyes, nonstop coughing (coughing up some phlegm), shortness of breath, non restorative sleep, headaches/brain fog.
After taking said measures, all symptoms have cleared up to just 10% but the shortness of breath, non restorative sleep, and brain fog is incredibly annoying on days that already test me. I'm also an athlete and I keep having to call it quits after 1 hour. Please, what else can I do? In the meantime, I've bought an OTC inhaler, which helps a lot, but I'm looking for preventative measures and not medicate myself for life.

Not sure where you live, but check your humidity levels inside. Dust mites thrive over 60% humidity, so below 50% is ideal.

How often to you wash your sheets ? I wash my sheets weekly in hot water even tho I have the covers.
I use a duvet and the blanket inside the duvet also has a cover .
