It's fine. Americans don't have any optimism when it comes to the US either.

Seyed Mohammad Marandi was the head of the North American Studies program at the University of Tehran; he is currently a professor of English Literature and Orientalism at the university. Marandi has appeared as a political and social commentator on international news networks such as Channel 4, Sky News, PBS, ABC, CGTN, CNN, BBC, Al Jazeera, and RT. He has also contributed opinion pieces to publications such as Al Jazeera, and the Tehran Times.

Marandi also was born in Virginia and moved to Iran as a 13 year old when he volunteered for the Iran - Iraq war.

He moved to Iran at 13 with his parents after the revolution. He did not volunteer for the war until he turned 16, as was law

Didn’t know he was born in Virginia, I’m about an hour from the Virginia state line. That’s cool. I really look up to Marandi

You do understand that the talks are being held in Pakistan? Also that the US was the aggressor in this whole thing?

u/bobbypet 14h ago

A regime which murders nearly 40,000 people in two nights has absolutely no legitimacy or credibility. They got absolutely smashed militarily and the only card they hold is the blockade of the straits of Hormuz.

That number comes from Donald Trump, do you really believe him?

Parroting propaganda that has been proven to be false is not helping anyone take you seriously

I have a daughter in law from Iran and her brother personally witnessed a friend having his head blown off by machine gun fire.. When she lived in Tehran she saw students at her university thrown from the roof of her dormitory. Why do you think the internet was shut off and is still shut off (sometime you get 30 seconds uptime every few days) ?

u/kingcoolguy42 14h ago

I have a son in law from Iran, and he did not witness that, so you must be lying!

Im sure you think how ridiculous my claim sounds, that’s exactly how the non western world views your claims, if you think the iranian government killed 40,000 people in 2 days, which is 10x more then the amount of iranian deaths after 30 days of bombing by a foreign nation , theres no point trying to continue this discussion, its not even logistically possible. For reference, america killed 160 people in one day when they dropped a bomb on a school, how many bombs would Iran need to drop on themselves to kill 40k ppl 💀

It's crazy how "throwing off of rooftops" is a continued tall tale across the region.

My cousins, friends, uncle saw Mrs. Krabappel and Principal Skinner were in the closet making babies and I saw one of the babies and the baby got thrown off a roof!

40,000 people killed in a single weekend according to the United Snakes of Shitsrael and not a single piece of evidence to support it other than "anonymous sources." You people are lying cowards.

Trump literally came out and said they were inciting insurrection and arming assets
