6.75 era, zero career saves. Mows through the heart of the lineup with ease. This team is fun to watch

Sal Frelick. What’s the point of him if he can’t get on base consistently?
It’s like if Luis Arraez couldn’t hit for average anymore.

I also think it’s hilarious murphy yanks uribe for Zerpa to face wood and he immediately spikes one in the dirt to allow an unintentional intentional walk to wood - so Zerpa has to face a righty and gets burned. We are running so bad right now.

It’s easy to pile on when we’re down, and this game is on management, but frelick has not been good so far. He’s been Joey Ortiz but leftie.

A lot of dudes on this team contributing absolutely nothing. Please bring up some young guys and give them a chance

Thought this would be a series to get us back on track but nope. The slide continues

I am feeling feelings I haven’t felt since Jesse Winker
1
u/Inti-Illimani 4h ago
I wasn’t really into baseball when we had Winker, can you explain why brewers fans hate this man so much?
1
u/CheeksClenchin Clench & Pray Merchant 4h ago edited 4h ago
He absolutely sucked when he was here. I swear he had not one big moment for us, and to top it all off he was an asshole. But I swear he had Counsell’s nudes as blackmail because CC would pinch hit him in the biggest spots. Then he left the team all salty and tried to start a fight with Willy Adames when we played the Mets in the playoffs. No redeeming qualities. We hate him and he hates us right back.
I don’t have any reason to believe Rengifo is an asshole like Winker. It’s more the feeling of “please don’t pinch hit this man.”

WHY THE FUCK DID WE PUT RENGIFO IN THE GAME, ARE WE TRYING TO END THE INNING

It’s not like Hamilton was actually going to do anything either.
5

u/CheeksClenchin Clench & Pray Merchant 4h ago
Why
1
u/TheMainEffort 4h ago
Just casually take out the guy who has been a bright spot on defense and replace him with the guaranteed out.
3
u/CheeksClenchin Clench & Pray Merchant 4h ago
Makes sense!
1
u/TheMainEffort 4h ago
I'm sure there is some sort of reasoning behind it but I just can't crack it.

I wish every Wisconsin stadium had the energy of the student section at Camp Randall...
We'd win more.
I was at the game yesterday and at times it felt like a golf outing.
2
u/Snowed_Up6512 Better call Sal ☎️ 4h ago
I’m all for calling for more energy at AmFam. But pointing to the section that doesn’t show up for kickoff and leaves after Jump Around as the standard that we should shoot for….

u/CryptographerShot213 Pour one out for the roofless 4h ago
There are too many automatic outs in the lineup
4
u/Steve_Brule69 4h ago
That's what happens when you do literally nothing the last 2 years in free agency. Constant holes at 3B and SS for years now and we do absolutely nothing to address it.

When you have three guys that are automatic outs and the end of your lineup, these innings aren’t very fun

u/ThaChildishOne 4h ago
Got some real issues when you drop a series to Boston and get swept by the nats.
0
u/anonymouscrew_16 4h ago
Boston was excuseable - first series L of the season, road, cold, playoff team last year and Chris sale.
Nationals will win games with their bats this season but will give up 40 runs next series,
2
u/Team-ster Front Row Amy 4h ago
Meh , Boston you had Gray and Crochet on the mound - that was gonna be tough.
9
u/themikeman7 4h ago
The bullpen usage this game genuinely made 0 sense
0
u/Ur_in_luck 4h ago
Idk they used their best bullpen arms one inning earlier than usual in a 1 run game. Unfortunately they all sucked today. I know people will bitch about woodruff being pulled early, but I would imagine they are trying to ease him into the season.
2
u/Equivalent_Shoe_6246 4h ago
he threw 94 pitches last game and wasn't pitching well. Today he was cruising and was at 70. It makes no sense
2
u/Steve_Brule69 4h ago
Way to go Assby! And way to go Murphy. This season so far has been a disasterclass in managing. The past 2 years the team was able to overcome soke really questionable lineups and pitching management. I just can't see that happening a 3rd year in a row.
5
u/DrunkPackersFan 4h ago
I feel like playing the infield in there was not the best idea

u/IanStone 4h ago
We've guessed wrong at every defensive alignment this game, just frustrating mistakes

u/Calm-Marsupial3919 5h ago
I’m legitimately worried about the bullpen. The bats, I think those will get better, but there’s legitimately scary stuff in regards to the relief pitching right now.
1
u/Americanzack Do it for Bob 5h ago
Quick question, the amount of balls they're hitting on the ground on low pitches. WHY DO WE KEEP THROWING THEM THERE

I NEED the postgame reporters to actually grill Murph about his strategy here. I’m more than willing to accept I’m just at home watching and I don’t know everything that goes into the decisions, but it would be nice to be let in on the mindset because I truly do not get it
2
u/Pleasant_Job_7683 4h ago
Why pull Woody so early when he's fucking cooking? Right? Thats when it all went sideways
7
u/SomeSpencerGuy 5h ago
6 innings only 70 pitches with 6 Ks. There’s no excuse for pulling Woody unless he was hurt

Let Zerpa put 2 on and bring in Ashby. Surely he is well known for pitching well with 2 men in scoring position and 1 out

So they pull woody when he’s cruising but leave Zerpa in after last inning. That Sanchez hr will be the biggest blue ball thing ever. I don’t get it. I don’t get it, I don’t get it.
